With Genode 23.02 we tightly follow our road map laid out in January. The release is accompanied by the first official system image of the mobile version of Sculpt OS for the PinePhone. It features a [https://genodians.org/nfeske/2023-01-05-mobile-user-interface - custom user interface], voice calls and mobile-data connectivity, on-target software installation and system update, device controls (battery, brightness, volume, mic, reset, shutdown), and a variety of installable software. Much noteworthy are the integrated GPU support and the ready-to-use Chromium-based Morph web browser.
Further, we extensively improved our ARM VMM for interactive scenarios as well as device drivers for NXP's i.MX platforms and, thereby, enabled ARM-based use cases like Sculpt OS on the MNT Reform laptop as daily driver. We optimized the GPU driver interface and the VFS infrastructure for enhanced performance. And last but not least, we incorporated support for disctinction of Intel P&E cores as well as principle support of suspend/resume on PC hardware.
