Software is Gene Designer. Need more input from DNA2.0 but here is a more detailed description of what we have in mind.
1- If you give us some information about the GD file format, we could create a function allowing GenoCAD users to export their parts library, possibly even their designs into GD. This would allow them to edit sequences in a free-style environment and other features of GD as well. We could start with file exchanges and possibly move to a live connection between the two environments.
2- We could also imagine building a DNA2.0 grammar on GenoCAD. In this case, the goal would be to allow the user to find the same parts as what you have in GD in GenoCAD. GenoCAD would provide them with some guidance on how to navigate the parts list. We probably don't need a live connection here unless you are planning on curating the parts catalog on a regular basis.
1 is easy and would not require any work on your side except explaining to us the file format.
2 would require a little more interactions because we'd need to discuss how combine the parts, etc. But that should still be manageable.
