geniusvp2_detect is a utility that tries to obtain low-level information about your Genius ColorPage-Vivid Pro II scanner.

It tries several wakeup sequences, common to many "versions" of the Genius ColorPage-Vivid Pro II scanner (that's right, Genius released different hardware under the same VP2 name).

It also works with some Primax devices, as the VP2 is internally a Primax device.

This release is bug-fix only: it fixes a bug where geniusvp2 does not release the parallel port when sane_geniusvp2_parport_open exits with error (EPP mode not detected), preventing other devices from using the parport.

This is the first version of the SANE backend, distributed as a patch to sane-backends-1.0.15. See http://geniusvp2.sourceforge.net/ for the installation instructions.

geniusvp2 is a stand-alone Linux driver for the Genius ColorPage-Vivid Pro II scanner. In future, it will also contain a SANE backend driver.
