the install script is MUCH improved (at least for developers) as it now senses when a particular phase has been done and only rebuilds if it hasn't - very Makefile-like in operation - makes for a ~10X
re-install speed when checking things!

Thanks!  Just about finished my rcluster bashing and some interface edits.
