#14 Format conversion based on data hierarchy/datatype

In some cases, for example, NIfTI 1.0 in brainfx, it might be a good idea to autoconvert between different data formats. It might be possible to do so on a per datatype basis. For example, fMRI4D says it needs a 4D NII, and the batch processing framework automatically converts from NII.GZ etc to NII format.

If accepted, this must take the form of a data converter that is called in via the extension point mechanism.

Details had not been worked out yet. But this function is tempting and can greatly help interoperability between different software and sells datatype/datahierarchy.
