Generguide functionalities are very interesting and the Configuration Builder 
quite handy.
"Old" Borges proposes a similar mechanism through profiling based on the 
exclusion of elements with specific "condition" attributes. The advantage of 
generguide approach is that it is completely DTD independent.
I have also always wondered how Borges could import modules located outside of 
its own projects. Generguide includes from URIs looks brilliant to me.
Finally, the fact that Borges V2 plans to extensively use xinclude makes both 
projects merge more likely to happen in a smooth way.

So I'd be glad we work together so that generguide functionalities are 
integrated into Borges V2 and Borges V2 possibilities are available to 
generguide projects.

As I see it, generguide offers two distinct original features:
1) ability to replace locally included modules by external modules referenced 
by a URI.
2) ability to exclude modules from the master document based on the modules 
IDs, with a simple inheritance mechanism.

To start with, I suggest you the following:
1) Add external modules references functionality  to

2) Extend profiling mechanism features in
