I anticipate that any new developer will have the same effect on GenerGuide. This is precisely why the issue of stable requirements is of some concern to me. Perhaps it's just me. But I like to develop on stable and unified vision first. Then, along the way collect ideas and discuss revisions to requirements as and when the development cycle permits. This way the target and release is not interupted. Like others I see little or no point of developing when I know that the vision is broken. I anticipate that others will feel the same. The problem is change. We humans do not like it, but we must if we are to evolve. I think that for the good of development, that I should review the requirements and do more research about generguide. That way you can get on with coding and our paths will meet down the track. All I need to know is that dev is not going to hate me or reject all the recomendations when I am finished. > > Part of refining requirements involves developing a prototype which will flush > out a number of the issues you don't understand of have not thought of. Yes, but take it in small steps, standards based. Make the foundation strong and work. Then enhance in small steps. > > However, I agree we need to capture the ideas from this discussion in the > requirements. Ditto. I think I will start at this point. Yep. At present it is hard to know how to use generguide. Do you know about e-novative DocBook Environment (eDE)? http://www.e-novative.de Take a look an tell me what you think.
