Yes, I still have the email.  I suspect that the standard edition will work in 
a similar way to that email without needing to configure XXE or add extra 
entities to the source doc.  This will make it easier to recommend to new 
users, and possibly even convince old users to stop using emacs.  :P

Yes maybe.  Lets see what functionality XXE 2.4 gives us and then decide.  It 
should be released by mid August, and I don't expect to have attracted too 
many users before then.
