Hi,

Could you please create a new term: "miRNA 2'-O-methylation" (equivalent to the snRNA version GO:1990437 snRNA 2'-O-methylation) as a child of GO:0001510 RNA methylation and GO:0010586 miRNA metabolic process (note: there is a term GO:0044747 mature miRNA 3'-end processing, but the definition is "Any process involved in forming distinct miRNA isoforms from a mature miRNA that differ at their 3'-ends" -- I don't think is applicable to my requested term as it's not creating a new isoform).

Suggested definition: The posttranscriptional addition of a methyl group to the 2' oxygen atom of a nucleotide residue in an miRNA molecule.

Please add GOC:BHF_miRNA and GOC:rph

Thanks,
Rachael.

Maybe reposition as a child of 'primary miRNA methylation'?

    Hi David,

"Maybe reposition as a child of 'primary miRNA methylation'?"

I don't think this would be appropriate as the methylation is happening to the mature miRNA rather than the primary miRNA precursor.

    Thanks,
    Rachael.
