No

I know that we annotate to the definition rather than to the term name, but here's a case where I think it might make sense to expand the definition and keep the same term name. The term is:

aspartic endopeptidase activity, intramembrane cleaving
Definition: Catalysis of the hydrolysis of nonterminal peptide bonds in a polypeptide chain, occurring within the plasma membrane. Source: ISBN:0198506732, GOC:jl
Comment: Note that although GO generally avoids the use of localization information in terms, in this case an exception was made. This is because the fact that the cleavage occurs within the membrane is integral to its function, as it is the only thing that distinguishes this group from other aspartic endopeptidases.

PMID: 25454947 characterizes a yeast intramembrane endopeptidase that is in the ER membrane rather than the plasma membrane. Would it make sense to edit the definition so that it says "occurring within a membrane" instead of "occurring within the plasma membrane"?

Thanks,
Maria

This is a VERY old term of mine. I agree the change makes sense.
