Hi,
I was making some annotations from PMID:22875802 (citation below) and I would like a term for "isogloboside biosynthetic process" as an is_a child of GO:0006688 - glycosphingolipid biosynthetic process. Presumably it would make sense to have the metabolic process and catabolic process terms also.
We already have a term for "globoside biosynthetic process", but apologies, my chemistry isn't good enough to suggest how to modify this to get the right core structure for the isogloboside.
The paper listed below has a nice diagram about which enzymes are involved with various steps of glycosphingolipid metabolism, but I see anything that helped me know how to write the formal name of the isoglobosides..
thanks,
-Karen

actually, maybe I need this term:
"isogloboside biosynthetic process via lactosylceramide"
thanks,

Shouldn't this be a CHEBI request?
Assigning to Harold so that he can request the chemical from chebi if necessary.

the globoside biosynthesis and isogloboside biosynthesis will be sibs; both start with lactosyl ceramide then diverge depending upon what enzyme is used next.
