GEIM (Germanium Electron & Ionization Modeling) is a specialized Python framework designed for step-by-step Monte Carlo simulation of primary ionization cascades in semiconductor media induced by high-energy photons.
Unlike heavy, geometry-dependent simulation toolkits, GEIM focuses strictly on high-precision atomic sub-shell physics. It utilizes normalized sub-shell photoelectric and bound-state Compton scattering cross-sections to explicitly track deep atomic vacancy creation, vacancy relaxation processes, and early-stage secondary radiation distribution.
GEIM serves as a fast, low-overhead event generator and research tool for tracking early ionization pathways and deep vacancy states (e.g., K-shell ionization probabilities) where macro-geometry is secondary to fundamental atomic interactions.
