Processor-heavy

It seems like GeekTool was very processor-intensive under Jaguar
for some reason. Things have been better under Panther, but I still
notice the CPUs spiking during heavy log writing -- particularly
when one log file is updating rapidly or two or three logs are being
written simultaneously. Is there any way to introduce a display
delay setting, change the priority of GeekTools threads, or in some
way make GeekTool more efficient?
Thanks,
Cal Hollister
