You may either
(1) write "fd.img" to a floppy and boot it on a real machine, or
(2) use Bochs (http://bochs.sourceforge.net), which is a PC
hardware emulator
I use Bochs, since it is much faster to run Bochs than to boot
a real computer. There is a .bochsrc file in the geekos directory
which is set up to boot GeekOS within Bochs. You will need
to edit that file to reflect the directory in which you
install Bochs.
