Geeklog Security Update

We have been made aware of security issues with Geeklog 1.3.7sr1 (and older versions), one of which actually opens up the possibility to gain Admin control over a Geeklog site. We are therefore releasing Geeklog
1.3.7sr2 and strongly recommend that you upgrade to that version as soon as possible.

Please go to http://www.geeklog.net/ for details and download links.

Geeklog 1.3.2 Released!

Geeklog, a very capable weblog/blog/CMS-type system, is now on version 1.3.2. This release focuses primarily on bugs. This will, more than likely, be the last 1.3.x release with any significant feature enhancements. We will release other bug fixes in the 1.3.x tree, however. The Geeklog development team has begun development on version 1.4 which will consist of a database redesign and rewriting a fair amount of code. You can expect 1.4 to live by the Geeklog mantra of security and speed!

Because of the recent changes to the geeklog-1.3 CVS tree the plugins will no longer work in Geeklog. I will go through each plugin this weekend and change them to use the new config variable names. Until then I apologize for the inconvenience.

Static Pages Plugin Available

If you are a bit adventuresome, we have the static pages plugin available at the plugins website, http://sourceforge.net/projects/geeklogplugins. This lets you create semi-static (they are stored in the DB) pages that are still also searchable. You create the page via the admin interface and then after saving you can get the URL for the page you created from the static page listing and past it into an anchor tag where ever you'd like!... read more

Website now at Sourceforge

Yep folks, the Geeklog website is now located here on sourceforge. Until we get the DNS stuff sorted out, the current URL is http://geeklog.sourceforge.net. The old URL is still working, but that site will be phased out once we sort out any of the problems.
