It would be nice to have a "plugin" api - for a couple of reasons -

1 - insure the lightweight nature of the editor, only
have what is needed

2 - potential of having more functionality faster with
people writing to APIs

however - with the APIs, a programming/style guide or suggestions/requirements for keeping them lightweight, etc.

potentials for this could be the FTP, SVN and CVS modules or hooks.

I'm going to start working on a basic plugin system. I don't think it will be very powerful (at least for a while) because we don't want to have to do too much rewriting of the codebase, especially before Geany 1.0 is finished. I guess that some SVN/CVS functions would be feasible as a plugin, but FTP may be impractical.

A basic plugin API has been implemented. It will be added to as needed by plugin authors. See src/plugindata.h.
