#938 Ubuntu build from source, unity interface issue

Greetings. I like to build Geany from source on my Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit machine. I have no problem building or running the program.

Since I am on Ubuntu, I am using the Unity interface, including the Unity Launcher. I will lock the Geany icon to the launcher for ease of access.

When I build the code from source, and then sudo make install, it does some things to the desktop file and ends up removing the Geany icon from the launcher. I am guessing it probably deletes the .desktop file, and Unity watches this and proceeds to remove the launcher entry...then the installation puts a new desktop file there.

I'd just like to have it leave the launcher icon there during installations, that's all! Thanks!! :)

AFAICT the only thing we do with the desktop file when installing is to write the new one in place of the old one. I'm afraid we can't do anything if Unity can't cope with desktop files update.

For me this is a bug in Unity, not Geany.
