When i try to compile java code in windows 7 32bit it comes up with the following

Compile window:
javac "GridPanel.java" (in directory: C:\Users\Vesper\Desktop\Practical Programming - CI2250\Workshop 2\Task6)

Status window:
11:50:27: Process failed (Create process failed)

Not sure why it's doing this, and the guides you have around the site don't seem to help either. I'm using the latest version of Geany for windows.

This looks rather like a problem with your java installation, even if it is not that easy to point out. Can you check that the environment variables like PATH, CLASSPATH, BOOTCLASSPATH, SOURCEPATH are set correctly (at the least the two first should be available afaik) and the compile command in the build menu works when you run it from command line?

And also check for more detailed information in Help->Debug Messages.

Closing as invalid since OP never responded and it definitively seems like a misconfigured Java/Windows.

@OP: Feel free to let us know if you got this working or not and/or think it should be reopened (probably need a SourceForge account though).
