#436 open or save network file on windows

Windows (49)

Before the open network files on windows bug was fixed, i use geany 0.17, i just see you put a new release 0.18.2 who fixe it. so i try it.

But in 0.17 when you want to open a network directory, in open files window (or save window) you can write \\computername\ into the name input and press enter to see this directory. but it's impossible in 0.18.2. maybe this is a gtk bug.

Thanks for your work

sorry for my bad english

This works for me fine with Geany 0.18.2. Though this would be indeed a GTK bug as the location entry in the file open dialog is a pure GTK feature.

Anyway, can you verify you are really using Geany 0.18.2 with its included GTK 2.16?

No, you need to run that from the command prompt so you can see the text printed. Run cmd.exe and cd geany_dir, then run geany.exe -V.

    so i run geany.exe -v,
    it's write geany 0.18.2, GTK+ 2.16.6, GLib 2.22.4.

it's allways impossible to open a network directory.

The gtk open file & save file windows are so ugly and no usefull in windows. it's so a really bad point for win users.

but geany is really a great soft then for me no problem

Windows native dialogs are available Geany 1.23 (git >= c05f1bd), does this fix the bug?

Will close in a few weeks if no response.
