#328 Text area not accessible
Geany's main text entry area appears to be a custom widget that is not reporting accurate ATK role information. As such, assistive technologies such as Orca are incapable of reading text entered into it.
Casual accessibility testing of Geany's remaining functionality seems to indicate that it is otherwise accessible, but of course, the main interest in an IDE is its text entry area. :)
This is under Geany 0.16.
Do you have any ideas or any pointers on how to fix this?
Does SciTE has the same problem?
I'd like to fix this but just no idea how.
Closing since there was no follow up and because the parts of Geany we maintain (doesn't include Scintilla main textbox widget) seem to be accessible.
@Nolan, feel free to reopen or send a message on the mailing list if you want, we do want Geany to be accessible, we can help work with upstream Scintilla to get it working if it's not yet.
