It would be neat to have better C# stuff like compiling and adding references to assemblies
You can setup the compile/build commands via Project -> Preferences or Build->Set Build Commands.
Adding references to a compiled assembly is impossible, you probably mean .csproj files. Geany is project file agnostic and knows nothing about .csproj, Makefile.in, cmake etc.
IIRC, .csproj is a XML file, which varies from one VS version to another, and the different items have different properties. Is it reasonable expect a light IDE to support all that?
