GeanyVC is nice but it last time I checked it, it doesn't support most common/basic Git operations (branching, merging, pushing, pulling, rebasing, diff-ing branches, managing remotes, etc.)

Take a look at the GeanyVC plugin:

It already does the job.

GeanyVC most likely will not support these in prior of using some real git tool like gitg, giggle etc.
