#4 GDB crashes on windows

Hello.

First of all thanks for the great work. GDCWIN is running fine on Windows.

But GDB 6.3 crashes on newer windows versions. Since there are patches for GDB 6.5 (which is running fine on newer windows versions) it would be nice if you could put up a windows executable of the newer gdb 6.5 with d
patches.

I tried to patch gdb 6.5 from the original sources (not mingw) and build it on windows by myself but failed. By using the original sources from the gnu site it seems to be the case that it can just be build with cygwin, which is not a solution, since it would require running it under cygwin.

It would already help, if you could just post how you initially compiled the gdb-sources with d-patches for version 6.3, so someone else could create a version for 6.5.

I assume that "newer windows versions" mean Vista ? (I recall it working OK on Windows XP)

I used the MinGW GDB sources (gdb-6.3-2-src.tar.bz2), with the d-gdb0.2.patch applied.
Then I used the following build script: http://gdcwin.sourceforge.net/gdb-6.3-build.sh

A newer version is available from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mingw/gdb-6.6-mingw-src.tar.bz2, the GDB 6.5 might work with that version... ? http://dsource.org/projects/gdb-patches/browser/downloads/gdb6.5/d-gdb6.5.patch
