Yes - but if you can set up your own palette, you can still arrange that the even numbered values for G have the same brightnesses as the equivelent R's and B's. Admittedly, this will mean that "White" will be 1/31 == ~3% dimmer than you might expect...but that's a small price to pay for nice greys.
