>I want to be able to create some type of glow effect around the eyes? haven't been following this thread to closely. the first post imho didn't make to much sense.. as for a glow effect, just do it the halo way; here is one simple way to try. render the 'eyes' hoping that's it's a sub object by scaling the eyes.. then texture it with a texture with the alpha values so you can get it the way you want..? you can introduce uv coordinate on them as well abuse for a pretty good effect... you could even use additive blending for that effect as well if you wanted to try that.? the effect/glow would still look pretty cool. if you just mean having the 'eyes glowing' and not projecting out anything, just add another texture to it with the glowing colors on it. if you can't afford that, like previusly mentioned? find out what vertex colors are in the eye, then adjust them properly to give you the 'glowish color' you want.. if you want the glow to hit other things, just set up a box around his eyes, if anything intersect with it, alter the vertex color accordingly... could do simple ray casting as well, which would be a lot easier... hope this helps, -akbar A. ;vertexabuse.cjb.net or ;www.vertexabuse.com cjb goes down once in a while "necessity is the mother of strange bedfellows" -ninja scroll -----Original Message----- From: gda...@li... Subject: Re: [Algorithms] 3-d character with lights for eyes Depends if you want the eyes to actually cast light onto other meshes (if yes, you obviously want real lights in there). Otherwise, just render the eyes seperately, either with vertex colours or a texture, and lighting disabled. -- gl ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt Harmon" <ha...@ui...> To: <gda...@li...> Sent: Friday, January 26, 2001 12:30 AM Subject: [Algorithms] 3-d character with lights for eyes > Im trying to have my 3-d character (a robot like the terminator) light up > its eyes.
