I though Jed Lengyel from Microsoft was planning to present some
paper on realtime fur at Siggraph2000
because I saw it presented here in march or so,
but I dont see it on his site:

check the Siggraph site.
It is basically the same techinque as the realtime grass,
although I think it uses different techniques at different
distances, eg. real lines for really close up.
It looks good and worked pretty nice in the demo he showed.
