I remember a few weeks ago a couple people mentioned some clever algorithms
for generating mip-maps for normal maps. Right now I do a standard box
filter on the original texture (these are normal maps as used in dot3 bump
mapping), and it doesn't look very good at all. Can anyone point me to some
resources on this topic?
