why do you think the unit-conversion would be so hard?

basically it should just mean to add a formula that changes the
displayed numbers and unit-signs, because the internal calculations can
still be made in the imperial units and need not to be changed. Its just
the displayed text that matters!
ok, for importing files and entries with metric data it would be needed
to have a function that recognizes if e.g. the unit sign is "yd" or "m"
and then import it in the correct way for the internal imperial units,
but that should be nearly all it I think...
