-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Well it has been some time since the last gcc release, however 0.24 was a pretty good version in spite of a few bugs. If you are the kind that likes more frequent updates you can always grab my latest beta code at: http://ground.dynip.com/freeware/gcc I usually do about 7.8 beta snapshots before releasing a 'stable' version to try to get all the bugs worked out. Any one's comments on these beta snapshots would be greatly appreciated. If you find a bug it is helpful to also send me a debug log of the command that is causing problems. To do this, turn the irc log on, /set debug 7, run the command that's causing you problems, and send me the output. I have included a script as of 0.25 that should do this for you, see the included 'debug.irc' If you have been having some very strange problems with version 0.24 such as your client connecting to two servers at once hopefully they are fixed. This was the most interesting bug yet as you could actually watch what you said come back to your client from the other server. There was also no way that I found to kill the original server connection after the second had been established. You most likely didn't notice this problem unless you had more than one server in your server list. Pretty sure I got this one, let me know if you see anything like this in 0.25. Things that still need work: Still having problems with joining some channels even after I thought I had that bug killed a few releases ago. At this point I am starting to believe it is a client bug. If you are running anything other than ircII-4.4b please let me know if you experience this bug. I will continue working on a fix. the XDCC code is still SHIT a much needed cleanup will come after 0.25 in 0.26 or 0.27. For a list of fixed bugs/new features in this version see the 'history.txt' file. The entries from the changelog are as follows: (V0.25) Fri Feb 25 16:36:46 EST 2000 ground/X Added a section to the help file that covers gcc's default key bindings The naddop command now handles top level domains correctly Added a section on project mailing lists to the README and change distribution site. The gcode command now refuses to send a blank message YOu can now add an op by name to your op list using the naddop command. Added a script 'debug.irc' to the gcc distribution that will allow users to make a debug log if they are having problems with the script. /setaway now shows the complete date/time to remote clients and logs the same. Did quite a bit of cleanup to the gcc install script. This script was actually included in V0.24 but was only a test version. the script now shows the creation time for channels when the channel mode is returned from the server. The script can now save the op/shit lists. Either use saveop from the client or just use the sve command to save all script settings. The auto join on invite feature now defaults to off too many spammers Did some general cleanup to the auto reconnect functions to fix bugs. See the news file for specifics.
