Does the latest PK2deviceFile_1_63_155_GCB_ONLY.dat support PIC16F18855?
I tried it with my PICkit 2 clone using the PK2CMD and I get "could not find device".
Same setup works with PIC16F886.

No, the PK2 device file does not support 16F18855 at all. At this time I am not aware of any version of PK2 device file from any source that supports 16F18855 family of chips.
For 16F18855 the current options are to use either MPLAB IPE or PKOB (if if the chip is on an Express board or Curiosity Board).
I prefer to use IPECMD.exe command line and edit the flashPic.bat file accordingly. MPLABX IPE will need to be installed on the system. . . .

To add. We do have investigation to enhance the PK3 source code to handler these newer chips. Could be a slow burn project as we have very good alternatives as shown by Bill on the previous post.

The build has a stabe version of the dat file.
We do need to document the files we have published. Look in the files tools/support/pickit folders. There is more, but still not complete, infoinformation.
Bill do you have time ?

Seems that the version information in the header was not updated
Try the attached file and see if it reports the correct version.
This is the same file except for the version information

Ok, thanks. Is there a document or list that shows what the default or version 1_63_155 device file supports?
The readme doesn't clarify.

Here is a sorted list
Thanks William.
William,
Just noticed when I use PK2deviceFile_1_63_155_GCB_ONLY.dat with PICkit 2 GUI, under Help>About I see Device File Version 1.63.151.
I will look into it.
