I can vouch for the Crimson Editor and MPASM assembler combo, tried and true so to speak. Will have to give the new IDE's a go, sometime down the line. Not a lot of forum feedback on the GCBIDE and BasicIDE.

I'm not sure exactly what the issue is with the download page, I haven't changed the way that I upload files or link them to the page and yet for some reason the links have been playing up in the last few months.
The author of GCBIDE has recently created a site: http://gcbide.googlepages.com/home . This is a better place to download GCBIDE from - the download link seems to work properly!
