    Hello everybody ...
    1) What is the newest version ? I downloaded Aug 7th the version "v0.98.07 RC22".
    2) Are several issues still left in this version, i.e. :
    - That one cannot use an individual bit testing together with other tests : If ((PinA.0 = 0) And (...)) Then ... ?
    - The buffer overflow with too long strings in software RS232 routines ?
    Thanks for any answer.

      Morning

      1. RC35. I will post later today
      2. Bit testing is good. Hugh improved.
      3. The buffer overflow. I am not aware but always dimension strings to resolve.

Could You please notify when the new version is online ? On the download page, in the filename, the version doesn't appear ! And can we hope that Kanda's AVRISP II will be supported like other programmers in a near future ?

I am not sure how to notify you. Any ideas?

On the download page the version is shown, and, the release candidates have the RC number, Not sure what else to add. Any recommendations?

Re the Kanda's AVRISP II . What software does this use? And, what are the command line parameters? Once these are documented then and someone adds to the Great Cow BASIC Programming Preferences . and that person shares the resulting USE.INI (created and managed by Great Cow BASIC Programming Preferences utility) then we can add.

Sorry, I can't see a version number anywhere ... And in the file name there is only "98", no RC number !

    What is No Arduino please?
328p is nice on a uno/nano and so easy to use with gcb...
none off that fiddly pic stuff :)

as arduino is more or less a 328p then even Evan has posted demos for 328
where before it would be pic.
may be cos my posts are 328 and it's just a 328 so accepted as popular...
and they are all the same.
If I use pics then try to stick with same one.
gcb avr support has increased a lot since I first used gcb.
there's plenty of 328 demos now.
the idea of gcb is that it is "easy" to use and "arduino" 328 boards are get things done
    with just a usb lead.
I really think gcb/avr is great and what I would recommend for a beginner...
or anyone who likes it simple. imho

I prefer a board designed by myself (see attachment), the 328 has not enough I/O's for me, and then on the Arduino boards there are many features (for example, regulated power supply from 7v) that I don't need ... I use a Mega8515 (or even 90S), this is perfect, directly powered with 5v.

And, as we said in the 80's, this is a picture of my "application" ; meanwhile many ( > 1000 ) trees have "grown" and I work on the streets of the upper village ...
    :)

Do you get to blow up the bridges?
Are the tracks live or train is battery?
Does it break down in a tunnel like real trains don't?
my grand children would love it.

The uno/nano can work off <5V if you use vin but then not meant to and go out of spec.

    whatever works for you.
I like the idea of a board, reg, ttl to usb and xtal all in one package...saves me bothering.
