Not sure if this is a compiler problem or not. Having a problem with the PicKit1 programmer recognizing (i.e. insert device message) both the 16f88 and 16f819, also the checksum failed when trying to write to a 16f877a. Can program the 16f648a no problem. Seems like migrating to the midrange Pic 16f devices is an issue of some sort. Or is it the PicKit1 has finally run out of gas?
Thanks for any tips or suggestions. Anyone using the PicKit2 programmer with success?
Regards,
Kent

Looking at the Microchip site, it appears that the PicKit1 only supports a few chips (mostly 12F6xx and 16F6xx parts). The PicKit2 looks better, though I haven't used either programmer personally.
