The newest PK2 device file from GCB@Syn/Pickit2GUI should have the PIC12f1572. If you are not using that folder, then just copy it over to the Program Files(x86)/Microchip/Pickit2? folder after renaming the old device file.
If you want to add even more devices, then consider supporting the PK2+/PK3+ project started by Anobium.

However, the easiest option would be to support Anobium's PICkit 2 (3) Plus standalone software which covers many new parts (and not just data file updates, but new scripts for the new PIC families).

No, don't bother with the Microchip forum efforts and links. William had to revamp everything to make something that actually worked. Follow our conversation here on the 12f1571/1572.

There's a few links on Microchip's forum explaining how to add this part to the standalone PICkit2 software.
See, eg, https://www.microchip.com/forums/m814654.aspx or https://www.microchip.com/forums/m841962.aspx

kent thanks Ed.
I can confirm the 12F1572 works with the old GUI PICkit software and the parts database from here - https://sourceforge.net/projects/pickit3plus/
Anobium thanks
