I'm very new to GC Studio and GCB (just installed), and i'm switching from PicBasic Pro, 3.1/MicroCode Studio Plus. I'm an experienced BASIC programmer since 1968 (I was 9. Yes, I'm old and retired), and I've been programming PICs since about 1989. I usually use a microEngineering Labs U2 programmer. How do I select this programmer in GC Studio? I've looked all over in Preferences, but I've been unable to find anything that talks about the device programmer. Is this something I somehow have to DEFINE in my program? If so, how do I do it? In MicroCode studio, the device programmer is selected in Preferences (or settings, or whatever they call it).
Regards,
Jeff

Welcome Jeff.
I am the Chief Developer.
I have not come across that programmer. You will need to add the programmer to options.
Help me understand. Is this a command line in PICBASIC in the preferences? if yes, please share all the parameters that control the programming event.
With this information I can advise how to add.
Jeff, I just remember I did a series of recent KO-FI posts covering the use of Preferences Editor.
Part 1: Introduction
Part 2: Programmers Tab
Part 3: Compiler Tab
Part 4: Tool Variables
Part5: Summary
Deep Dive into USE.INI
If you share your existing parameters then we can ensure it works for you.
What chip are planning to use? Does that programmer support any potential new chip you want to use?
