I set up the circuit on a breadboard as mentioned & entered the code into GCGB & comlpiled it to Hex Code.
I then loaded the Hex code into my elcheapo K149-BC programmer & programmed the PIC16f88 I/P chip.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong as I don't get any response from the simple circuit?
I don't get a pulse at Pin 8 RB2, it is 0v with my DMM?
My supply voltage is 5.2v
I am unsure about the device settings in GCGB hardware settings, what should I select for this circuit?
Or more to the point could this be the issue .
At this stage I am not sure if it is me doing things incorrectly or if it is the programmer or the micro's I have are defective.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have been tring to get this to work for a couple of days with no luck?
I have repositioned the circuit on the breadboard just in case of a loose connection but still no luck
Thanks

Sorry for the double post but after reading through some info on this site I have managed to get things working correctly.
It appears that I was not setting the oscillator in the chip correctly!
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I am totally new to programming so I thought I would start with a simple project, here:
