For use in SPI communication. The datasheet is a little vague (though the PPS tool allows it).
Anyway, has anybody successfully done this. I am running out of pins on a 14-pin device and rather than use a 20-pin I could maybe squeeze the functionality out of the MCLR pin. [edit] I am using a 16F18326, but the question could apply to any PPS enabled chip.

Hi, Evidently there is a weak pullup on the mclr pin, so I went to my archive and found the attached jpeg. You could use this as an output - which might freeup another more appropiate pin!

If ppstool says i can be assigned is good. Check the config prereqs. And, then try it.
