A few of us are trying to resolve the SynWrite crashes.

Intent is NOT to turn off the LEX but to stop the crashes with a proper root cause analysis to find the issue and resolve.

**So, can anyone provide a use case(s) where a crash IS 100% repeatable? We need the source, the event described as a series of steps or keyboard actions (a video will do also).
    **

This is not a thread to discuss .... I had this happen... or, it happens often... or, a general dicsussion re SynWrite We need repeatable crash so we can analyse.

    Cheers

I may have the answer! it took me a while but I could get a reproducable result of the crash. The event was like this.
    1. Enter Str(
    2. Enter ) and then the Helper appeared.
    3. The enter/return key stopped working (other documents loaded where still ok).
    4. Try to correct Str()... crash.

So, one change may have resolved. Change the parameter to 0 in the Customise - Editor - AutoComplete - 'search for words only in the first ... Mb of file.

Works here... does it work for you?

I have received reports that s changing the parameter to 0 in the Customise - Editor - AutoComplete - 'search for words only in the first ... Mb of file. Does resolve the crash issue.

I will set the default for the next release to Zero (0).
