Since pickit2+ and pickit3+ installed, pickit2 doesn't find device but pickit2+ finds the device and reads it ok and works.
Pickit3 finds the device but can't read it, pickit3+ works ok.
Is this normal?
I tried a new win10 installation, loaded gcb latest first then pickit2 v2.60 and pickit3 v3.10 but the same as when I upgraded gcb and pk2&3 were already installed.

It's a pic18f25k22 which is supported...been using them for a while with pk2 and gcb.
I only noticed this recently when I needed to use a 3.3V device and a pic was easiest.
I'll try a win7 laptop with pk2&3 and pk2+&3+.

The old sotware will crash wihen exiting - that is one of the known bugs in the old software.
Re PICKit+. This works here. I have just tested so look at the computer/virus checker etc.

Pickit+ is working fine. The only automation I got working is pk+ loads and flashes hex file when it's updated, not gcb ide tools / edit programmer...someone else is having problems to.
Odd pk2 works on win10 but not pk3
and pk3 works on win7 but not pk2.

The Device you are trying to detect is probably not supported by PICKit.
PICKit+ adds devices that the Microchip have not included in their own version of PICKit software.
That was the whole reson for PICKit+, to support more devices than Microchip do.

I tried a win7 machine with gcb pk2+&3+ and pk2 didn't see device and crashed on quit
but pickit3 works ok.
No idea really.
