You may think that these costs could be reduced... the management cost of changing these is the real cost.

With more revenue I have revised the target to include a Comodo Application SIgning certiifcate. This means we can provide applications that will not be rejected by Linux and Windows 10&11.

The SSL needs to be specific service provider but we should check letencrypt.com or sslforfree.com on the next renewal. Good idea.
Re SourceForge - performance of distribution is getting slower and slower, as time passes I would expect a lot of adverts then the way to remove the adverts will be to pay. So, it will be free but for the basic, slow and advert laded service. Time will tell what happens.

I have just purchased a Code Signing Certificate. This means the applications and the installers can now be digitally signed.
We will now test the process to ensure we can digitally sign the applications and make any required changes to the process(es). We have 28 days to complete this work - if we cannot sign then I would get a refund.
I have just purchased/renewed the GCBASIC.COM SSL certificate for 5 years.. This means the applications and the installers will be able to maintain the use of GCBASIC.COM until 2028.
Even though this is a 5-year renewed the SSL lifetime limit states the maximum allowed lifetime of an SSL certificate permitted by major web browsers such as Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. The lifetime limit of an SSL certificate is 396 days, which is a 1-year certificate. Therefore, the SSL is issued for 1 year. To use the remaining time left when 1 year has passed, someone will need to reissue the SSL. To reissue the remaining period of a multi-year SSL purchased. the Certificate Authority will issue another 1-year SSL (or less, depending on how long is left on your certificate period). See the SSL details page of the Namecheap account panel. The process is very easy.
