I decided to upgrade a rpi3 to a 32G sd card and thought a clean start and try to get gcb linux working...just for the experience...as I don't use linux.
I downloaded the raspian os. It was called jessie but is now buster and comes in full, medium and small versions.
I used the medium version which doesn't have mathematica and other stuff which I usually have to delete.
This installs chromium and vlc player by default and when first run asks about wi-fi, is the screen size ok etc. cool. no config setting up.
Working nice but tried to get freebasic and got the files but stumped as it's a different install than before.
wanted to show using gcb forum on the rpi but didn't know how to capture screen like win.
Gcb forum wrong place to post linux problems but need fb to make gcb and it's a learning thing...why don't I just use windows?
This is on a rpi.
like a pc ..not.
Is the fbc the file to use for compiling text files n editor or geaney?
IE have I installed it already already.? should I try fcb file.bas and where's it all go..
before I try installing gcb.
rpi is been nice so far. the preinstalled vlc works better than before with just a video on a usb stick. very smooth. This is just a rpi3 but seems better than I remember it.
...and scrot was installed already but didn't know. ie screen capture.
Linux users please help. I want to be mad as you and use linux.
well, not a linux user

Just compiled RC25 from source on a raspberry Pi3 using the latest ARMv7 Freebasic compiler. It compiled it with no problems. No changes to the install script necessary.
I used the output to compile a complex GCB program for an 18F45K42 that used to produce errors on 0.98.06. The errors went away :-).
Thanks for all your great work!"

How to run the install?
I tried https://scruss.com/blog/2015/03/25/running-freebasic-on-raspberry-pi/
along with other searches for rpi freebasic and can't find links to the fb I once did build on rpi.
please delete this thread if inappropriate to gcb
