Unfortunately there is no version of GCBASIC for Macs. The FreeBASIC compiler only supports DOS, Win32 and x86 Linux. At some stage in the future it may support Macs, and if it does I'll certainly be interested in porting GCBASIC.
Your best bet for running GCBASIC is a x86 Linux distro.

Has anything changed since 2007?
Does FreeBASIC or GCBASIC plan to offer a Apple MAC version?
With the popularity of Arduino on MAC, I would hope this would be coming soon.

Sorry, still no luck with GCBASIC on a Mac! FreeBASIC appears to be at about the same point as it was in 2007 - no Mac support, and no-one trying to add it. That pretty much rules out the GCBASIC compiler on a Mac, unless FreeBASIC's new C emitter is good enough to convert the GCBASIC source into something that can be fed to gcc.
As for GCGB, you might be able to hack something together with Mono, but last time I tried running GCGB in Mono on Ubuntu I had to copy a couple of dlls over from Windows and the result was incredibly unstable. It's also somewhat limited in usefulness without the compiler.
So the best option for GCBASIC on a Mac is still either an x86 Linux installation, or Windows 2000/XP inside a virtual machine. Sorry!

Is there a version of GCBASIC for us users of the Apple Macintosh?
Or if not, is there a version of GCBASIC which can run under LINUX for the Apple Macintosh?
I want to be able to program a PIC using a Macintosh, without having to make the switch to a PC and Windows.
From a dedicated "true blue" Macintosh-exclusive afficiando.
