A brand new GCB user here.
So far I got GCB running, seemingly OK.
Can someone please step me through getting the actual programming working on PICKIT2 programmer.
Nothing is ever bloody simple for old farts like me.
It seems to default to some other programmer type.
I am using this on a CHIPINO board. And will, if I can get it all working, use it in lieu of my older PBP setup.
    Thank you, in advance.

    Peter,
Go to greatcowbasic.com and download the Great Cow Basic CHIPINO (GCBC) Starter Kit Software and then the free GCBC Starter Kit Manual.

The starter kit software includes a customized version of the SYNWRITE IDE with GCB and PICkit 2 drivers all built in.
You just run the installation file setup.exe and it will set everything up for you. There are even sample programs written for the CHIPINO at that website under the sample projects menu.

But you can use CHIPINO with both GCB and PBP. I do it all the time.

Yeah, I have been using Chipino on PBP for 12 months or so, just need to change over to have a look at the GLCD functions that are lacking on PBP.

Yes, the GLCD is a nice added feature along with a few others PBP doesn't offer. I also like the LCD commands better as you can set any pins for the data lines. This allows you to use the popular DFRobot LCD shield with CHIPINO. I could not get it to work with PBP LCD commands.

Plus GCB produces a pure assembly file, so you can even load it into MPLAB and simulate your code. Something I could never get to work on PBP.

Another way is to just use the file/import hex file into the standalone PICkit2V2.exe GUI interface. From there you can also click the auto import hex + write device button if you like.

A reference to the cmd line operation that works with download.bat https://sourceforge.net/p/gcbasic/discussion/579125/thread/fbb69eae/?limit=25#d4f9/a723

Just thought it would be a bit easier for the pickit to fire up from within the GCB. Hopefully will see pretty soon.
