This could be good for a diorama I am building. I need multi channel sound system to emulate the engine noises. This looks like it has external signal to start sound which would be perfect.

There are so many cheap devices that look similar. Nearest I got success with was the picaxe mp3 player. I used Audacity to sample and change my voice and a ssd1306 that drew faces.. r2d2 idea.

Personally I prefer the 'DfPlayer' module. The operation appears similar to the icStation one mentioned above (probably using the same controller) but has the flexibility of a uSD card slot and the capability to play from a 'standard' USB memory stick. Anything at work I need music from, I use the DfPlayer.
They are available from Amazon, or directly from China (AliExpress) at affordable prices.

The original link made it seem more capable than it is, ie record mp3s and speech recognition.
