USB Support

    Hugh,

    You commented some time back that USB support wouldn't be possible until some GCB internals were improved. You've made a lot of improvements in the last year, and it's starting to look pretty solid. Based on that, could you venture a revised estimate for when we'll see USB?

      There were 3 major new features that I think the compiler needs to make USB implementation easier:
      - Custom interrupt handlers
      - User defined types
      - Pointers

      The first is now implemented as the On Interrupt command. That was the most important one, so it is now possible to implement USB code. However, without UDTs and pointers it'd be quite messy.

      It's hard to say when any of these or USB will be implemented in GCBASIC. They'd all be nice features to have, but it's a matter of finding the time! Some time in the next 6 months would be good, but they'll all involve quite major changes to the compiler.

    USB pic chips
    gennerly pic is expecive to many other mamufacters
    That I'm not that keen on pic
    but is good basics to begin with when you have cow basic
