Troubleshooting

No gamepad detected

Reconnect the gamepad and wait for the Startup page to check again. Verify
that the operating system recognizes the controller.

Playback failed

Confirm that the file opens in another media player and that ffpyplayer is
installed:

pip install ffpyplayer

Cursor direction is reversed

Enable the Y-axis reversal option on the Check page.

Cursor drifts at rest

Run the Dead-zone measurement again without touching the stick.

Inspect logs

The application log is stored at:

~/.gcats/gcats.log

Enable debug logging before launch:

$env:GCATS_DEBUG=1
python run_gcats.py

On macOS or Linux:

export GCATS_DEBUG=1
python run_gcats.py
