Data Output

Each session writes three files in data/:

<participant>_S<session>_<timestamp>_raw.csv
<participant>_S<session>_<timestamp>_continuous.csv
<participant>_S<session>_<timestamp>_config.json

CSV files

• raw.csv contains every successful gamepad poll.
• continuous.csv contains readings sampled at the configured output rate.
• Both files include continuous and summary rows when those modes are enabled.

Important fields include:

• trial, stimulus_id, and stimulus_kind
• phase (trace or summary)
• Raw, mapped, valence, and arousal values
• Button states
• Requested and achieved sampling rates
• Rating scale, mapping, labels, and display settings

Raw values are retained so later analysis can repeat mapping and scaling.

Configuration JSON

The JSON file records the complete session configuration, including participant
details, stimuli, protocol, display settings, input settings, and runtime
facts such as monitor refresh rate.
