Configuration

Stimulus settings

• Order: random or sequential.
• Image duration: how long each still image is shown.
• Aspect ratio: original, 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, or 16:9.
• Inner margin: percentage of each screen edge reserved around the media;
  the default is 10%.

Fixed aspect ratios are centered inside the safe area. Media is not stretched;
fixed-ratio layouts crop excess edges symmetrically.

Protocol settings

• Fixation cross or blank inter-stimulus gap.
• Gap duration.
• Continuous, summary, or combined rating mode.
• Summary before or after stimulus playback.

Rating and input settings

• Output sampling frequency or monitor refresh rate.
• Rating scale limits.
• Direct or circle-to-square stick mapping.
• Selected stick axes and confirmation/lock buttons.
• Dead-zone and resting center.
• Optional Y-axis inversion.

Appearance

• Cursor opacity and radius.
• Central axes and guide-line visibility and opacity.
• Valence and arousal endpoint labels.
• Custom summary question.

Presets

The Configuration page can save reusable JSON presets. The last-used preset
is stored at:

~/.gcats/default_preset.json

Participant details and selected stimulus files are not included in presets.
