Well, everybody has seen the new version, and there were no bugs reported. I did get questions like "Where can I find mkrboot" from someone who wanted to make a single disk, and "How do I get ppp working" on a set made with Yard. People definitely notice gBootRoot. Remember Part II will involve incorporating Yard, I forsee many ways of doing this. Templates could be used to allow people to choose from different styes .. Yard, rtbt, bare min. working system + customized, etc. Part I probably still can use some features, which will be easy to add to the AI. I've been day dreaming about Part III. I will start another project called AVD "Aquired Virtual Distribution." The client model to accomplish this already exists, and to a large degree so does the server model. I've developed a database with Berkeley DB. I want to convert this database to run with SQL databases using DBI. This will all be integrated with the UML "http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/" approach, making testing the creation of a new distribution a lot of fun. Then this will be added as a method to gBootRoot. Keep adding any features you feel are necessary to Part I, and any improvements. |
