  Speaking of helpful files, I found a utility called psmap which can be used to generate a Postscript map of the universe.
  
  http://myweb.cableone.net/tsand/psmap.tar.gz
  
  To use it, pipe/log the output of the "stars" command to a file and run psmap on it.
